Best season to do Kathmandu valley trek 

Kathmandu valley short trek is one of the ideal treks which can be done in every season of the year.

This is not the high-altitude trek, so, there will be no risk but need to be prepared well, according to the season. However, Autumn (September, October, and November) and Spring (March, April, and May) are the perfect time to explore the beauty of Nature. 

Winter (December, January, February) is also the best time to explore the Kathmandu valley trek, December is still the best time to visit Kathmandu valley because the skies will be clear and you can enjoy the best views of the pristine mountain. Only you need to be prepared with an extra layer of warm clothes. The temperature ranges from 20 degrees to 4 degrees.

Monsoon/Summer (June, July, August) is the season of frequent rainfall so, the need to prepare with waterproof layers, the dark clouds, and unexpected downpours on the trail will not offer the best experience of trekking.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and trek to ChisaPani (2180m, 5-hour trek)
Day 2: Trek to Nagarkot (2170m-6-7 hour)
Day 3: Trek to Bhaktapur and Drive to Kathmandu (5 hours)

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and trek to ChisaPani (2180m, 5-hour trek)

Today you will drive 12 km to Sundarijal, after breakfast. After a one-hour drive to Sundarijal, 1463m, you will start your hike towards Chisapani.
You will hike through the steep trail and concrete stairs up to Mulkharka, you will stop for lunch where you can enjoy the chirping of birds, dense forest, and view of Kathmandu valley.
After lunch, you will hike for 2-3 hours to reach Chisapani.

Day 2: Trek to Nagarkot (2170m-6-7 hour)

Today you will hike along the edge of the hills among Chisapani and Nagarkot. The trail is easy and peaceful, you will encounter wild animals, birds, and few hikers.
7 hours easy hike will lead you towards beautiful village Nagarkot, 2170m), enjoy the stunning view of the horizon.
After a long day hike through the beautiful countryside hills counting Shivpuri National Park. Relax and enjoy your evening at Nagarkot View-point to see the sunset.
Overnight at Nagarkot.

Day 3: Trek to Bhaktapur and Drive to Kathmandu (5 hours)

We will start a hike before sunrise, today we hike 20min to reach the Nagarkot View Point to enjoy the stunning sunrise and scenery of the Himalayas. If the weather is clear you can have the clear view of Mt. Everest and Manasalu, if luck favor then you will get the chance to see around 20 peaks.
After breakfast, you will start your hike with the next view of the green valley down the Nagarkot hill and Terrence filed will add extra to the day of Kathmandu valley Trek.
From Nagarkot, we will head towards Bhaktapur through the easy descending hike. On the way, we will visit the oldest temple Changunarayan, the hill above Bhaktapur.
After 4 hours hike and 1-hour drive, we will back to Kathmandu.
