Annapurna Base Camp trek is regarded as one of the time friendly and exciting treks in Nepal. The path goes through the diverse landscape and culture complete with rich mountains views, Terraced field, quaint villages, and a wide variety of flora and fauna, this trek is the journey to the base of 10 highest mountain in the world situated at 4130m above sea level and one of the most visited treks and most popular walks on earth.
The picturesque scenery of Annapurna Base camp at 4310m is unique and stunningly beautiful, which offers the views of majestic peaks, Annapurna (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and Hiunchuli (6441m).
The people are friendly and the teahouse and lodge in the Annapurna trekking region are well managed with extensive menus ranging from rice and lentils to Chau mein, Pasta, Mo, Mo, and other varieties. Basic rooms with hot shower are readily available as well.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary is designed by comparing the normal walks in this region which lead towards the base camp and focus on globetrotters who wish to trek to the base camp of the stunning Himalayas in a more relaxed manner and short period.

Best Season for Annapurna Base Camp trek

There are 4 different seasons in a year, in Nepal, Spring, Autumn, Summer/Monsoon, Winter. Trekking in different seasons offers different experiences. The best season to trek the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is during the Spring (March April May) and Autumn (September, October, November).

Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Spring and Autumn season

September October November is considered as the fall season and the best time to trek the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This is the month after the monsoon season, so, the dust is clear and the weather is perfect with stable temperature during the day and slightly cold during the night.

March April, May are the months of the spring season in Nepal. It is considered the second most popular season after the Autumn season in entire Nepal. the season of blooming rhododendron and colorful nature adds an extra charm to the trek.

The average temperature of lower altitude during day time ranges from 10-20 degrees and the night will be cold, the temperature will drop below 0 degrees.

Monsoon/Summer and winter are not the best time to trek Annapurna Base camp, during summer/monsoon the trail will be risky, and humid will be high, frequent rainfall makes the trail muddy and slippery also there will be a lot of leeches on the trail. 

During winter lower altitude trek is doable but the high-altitude trek will be challenging, the trail will be covered with thick snow, and a high chance to get lost on the trail. The temperature will drop below -20 degrees.

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Pokhara 25minute and trek to Ghandruk (5-6 hours/ 1940m)
Day 2: Trek to Chhomrong (5-6 hours/2170m)
Day 3: Trek to Bambo (4-5 hours/ 2310m)
Day 4: Trek to Deurali (3-4 hours/3230m)
Day 5: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp Via Machhapuchre Base Camp (4310m-3700m/5-6 hours)
Day 6: Backtrack to Bamboo (7-8 hours)
Day 7: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5-6 hours)
Day 8: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (6 hours’ trek 1-hour drive)

Day 1: Fly to Pokhara 25minute and trek to Ghandruk (5-6 hours/ 1940m)

After morning breakfast, we take the flight to Pokhara, the beautiful paradise city and we will take an hour's drive to Nayapul after landing at the Pokhara Airport. We will head towards Ghandruk village by following the trail from Birethanti, inhabited by the Gurung community. If we reach early, then we will explore the Gurung museum.

Day 2: Trek to Chhomrong (5-6 hours/2170m)

After early morning breakfast, we will start our trek via Kimrungdada by enjoying the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail (Machhapuuchare), and Gangapurna. We will reach to Kimrungdad after a few steep descents. We will stop for lunch here, then continue our pace through the steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while and then gentle walk to Chomrong, the beautiful village located on the lap of giant Annapurna Massif.

Day 3: Trek to Bamboo (4-5 hour/2310m)

After early morning breakfast, we will descend through 2500 stone stairs and cross the Suspension bridge over Chhomrong Khola, and go up again through lower and upper Sinwa. We will pass through the green lush forest to Kuldhar lead towards Bamboo by a gentle downhill walk.

Day 4: Trek to Deurali (3-4 hours/3230m)

After early morning breakfast, we pass through the Bamboo Forest which is clammy and cold, then ascend steadily with a few stone stairs sections. It is only after heading Himalayan Hotel that the opens and we are out in the sun again with outstanding views of the glacial river down. The vegetation is scanter, offering the stunning view of the valley, beautiful flowing river, and the sheer rock face hills above with bands of the delicate waterfall.

Day 5: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp Via Machhapuchre Base Camp (4310m-3700m/5-6 hours)

We will start our trek after early morning breakfast, we will climb gently following a river bed then over a cliff trail over to the mountainside. We can enjoy the excellent view of the Machhapuchare, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and others which is certainly a rewarding experience. The vegetation disappears on our way to Annapurna Base Camp and the trail widen after arriving at the Annapurna Sanctuary. From here the south face of Annapurna mountain will face us with the breathtaking views of the close vertical. Enjoy the panoramic view of Machhapuchhare, Annapurna massif, Hiunchuli, and others.

Day 6: Backtrack to Bamboo (7-8 hours)

After enjoying the moments at Annapurna Base camp it's time to say goodbye to the Base camp and retrace our trek to Bamboo. Today we will follow the descending trail, so it is a little difficult walk.

Day 7: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5-6 hours)

After breakfast, we will follow the ascending trail to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. After climbing the stone stairs to Chhomrong gradually the trail will descend to Jhinu Danda, where we will spend our night by enjoying the hot spring and get relief from the aching body.

Day 8: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (6 hours’ trek 1-hour drive)

Today is our last day of trekking, we will start our trek after early morning breakfast, on the way to Nayaul, we will explore the beautiful landscape of western Nepal. our trek ends at Nayapul and drives to Pokhara.
